Annual Meeting Slate of Candidates

Kenneth M. Eades 
Vice Chair/Incumbent

Mr. Eades is professor emeritus at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. During his 30 year tenure at the Darden School, he published articles for both academic and business practitioner audiences. He has co-authored three textbooks and over 70 business case studies that have been used in business school curriculums around the world and has taught seminars for executives at several Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Eades served as the head of Darden’s finance department for 20 years, as well as director on the University of Virginia Health Services Foundation, and director on the Darden School Foundation for 6 years. Mr. Eades has served as a member of the Board of Directors for the UVA Community Credit Union since 2013.  He holds a BS from the University of Kentucky and PhD from Purdue University.

Lisa P. Heuchert
Treasurer/Incumbent

Ms. Heuchert is the corporate accounting manager for the University of Virginia Investment Management Company and is responsible for implementing financial systems, strategies, processes and controls. Her expertise includes establishing accounting functions, systems and best practices; cost reduction; automation; and regulatory compliance. Ms. Heuchert has served on many committees at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she also has been a Sunday school teacher for 27 years. In addition, she was the former treasurer for the Charlottesville area Church World Services’ CROP Hunger Walk. Ms. Heuchert has been a member of the Board of Directors for the UVA Community Credit Union since 2008.  She holds a BS and MS from the University of Virginia, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Virginia.

Marie C. Melton 
Secretary/Incumbent

Ms. Melton is retired after serving Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) for over 40 years. During her tenure with PVCC, Ms. Melton supervised and managed all college fiscal operations relating to accounting, budgeting, payroll, procurement, and fixed assets. She served as liaison with state and internal auditors. A longstanding member of the UVA Community Credit Union Board of Directors and current Chair of the Governance Committee, she is also a Past Matron of Order of the Eastern Star. Ms. Melton holds a BS from James Madison University and earned additional credentials from the College Business Management Institute, Southern Association of College and University Business Officers, Commonwealth Management Institute, Virginia Commonwealth University, and PVCC.

J. Barrett “Barry” Jones
Director/Incumbent

Mr. Jones has practiced law in Charlottesville for 42 years and is the founding partner of the firm, Jones & Green, LLP. He served for eight years as a member and then chairman of the Virginia Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Advisory Committee. Additionally, Mr. Jones has served on a number of non-profit boards of directors, including Offender Aid and Restoration, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Legal Aid Society, and the Albemarle Housing Improvement Program. Recently, he concluded terms on the Endowment Board and on the Vestry of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Greenwood. Mr. Jones currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for UVA Community Credit Union. He earned his undergraduate degree in government from Dartmouth College and received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
