A Cashier's Check is a check guaranteed by UVA Community Credit Union. There is a $3.50 fee for each Cashier's Check requested. Funds must be available in the member's account before a Cashier's Check can be issued. To request a UVA Community Credit Union cashier's check go to one of our full service branch locations during regular hours of operation.

A Notary Public is state-licensed legal witness to the signing of a document. A Notary Public acknowledges the signing of a document with his or her own signature and notary seal. UVA Community Credit Union offers notary services at all of our full service branch locations during regular hours of operation. In order to have a document notarized, members must present a valid photo ID and sign the document in the presence of the notary. Before visiting a branch for any notary service, we advise calling 434-964-2001 to ensure that a notary will be available at the time of your visit. Per the handbook for Virginia Notaries Public, page 11, a Virginia notary may refuse to notarize a document.

Some documents are just too important to store unprotected in your home, such as your will or the deed for your property. Rent a safe deposit box at UVA Community Credit Union and protect your documents, expensive jewelry or other precious belongings from theft, loss or damage. UVA Community Credit Union rents safe deposit boxes at the Pantops, Patton Mansion, and Town of Orange branches. Boxes are subject to availability. You can access your box anytime the lobby is open. Choose from four safe deposit box sizes, and we'll automatically deduct your annual rental fee from your member account. UVA Community Credit Union provides signature guarantees for members intending to transfer or trade registered securities such as stocks, bonds, or mutual funds. We can perform signature guarantees on transactions up to $250,000. This service is offered free of charge to all of our members and is available at our Berkmar, Arlington, Blackwell Road and Pantops branches. To ensure prompt and accurate service, please call ahead, 434-964-2001. In order to successfully perform a signature guarantee we must be able to determine that you are: (1) the appropriate person to request the transaction, (2) acting within your legal capacity to sign the transaction request form, and that (3) your signature is genuine. In order to expedite the guarantee process please bring the following: (1) a valid photo ID, (2) a document proving your ownership of the security you wish to sell, redeem or transfer, (3) any other documents (e.g. Power of attorney, Qualification of Fiduciary) that demonstrates your legal capacity to act on the account, (4) any and all joint owners of the security, as they will also need to sign. The joint owners must also present identification.
