Central Finance Guide

Central Finance makes managing your money easier than ever. Users of personal financial management tools like Central Finance report saving an average of $100 a month by tracking spending and setting financial goals. Here is how you can get the most out of Central Finance.

Add An Account

You can keep tabs on all of your accounts…even those outside of the credit union. Adding these accounts will help provide you with the complete financial picture you are looking for. Best of all, it is easy and secure with Central Finance.

  1. On the Dashboard page of Central Finance, click on the “Add” button at the top of the left hand column.
  2. Select the financial institution by clicking its logo or searching by name or URL.
  3. Enter your account credentials and Central Finance will display transaction and account balance information for any accounts you have with that institution.
  4. Repeat with all of your financial institutions to complete your financial picture.

Create a Goal

Whether you want to pay down debt or save towards a special purchase, Central Finance makes it easy to set goals and track your progress.

  • Click on the “Goals” tab and click “Add a Goal”. Then choose the type of goal you want to create.
  • Fill in the fields to name your goal and set up the specifics of the goal.
  • Repeat for all of your financial goals.

Set a Spending Target

The real power of Central Finance is in its ability to help you track and manage your finances by setting and monitoring spending targets.

  1. Click on the “Budget” tab in Central Finance and then click “Add a New Spending Target” to get started.
  2. Complete the fields to pick the tags you want to track for the target, name the target, set a monthly limit, and track the accounts that will count towards the target.
  3. Repeat for other spending categories – some of the most common expenses to track are groceries, transportation, and dining out.

Monitor Your Cash Flow Calendar

See where things might get tight during the month and make changes to improve your financial picture.

  1. Navigate to the Cash Flow tab to see your monthly cash flow.
  2. Click on “Add Income” or “Add Bill” to add things like your paycheck, rent, mortgage, utilities to accurately forecast your daily cash flow.

Add Alerts

Need reminders to keep your spending in check? Central Finance has the ability to help you track and manage your finances by enabling you to set alerts for account balance, spending target, goal progress, bill due dates, large transactions, and specific store purchases.

  1. Click on “Add an Alert” button in middle of screen. You will be directed to a special form.
  2. Complete the fields on the form. Click “Add Alert”.
  3. Repeat for other for all the alerts you prefer to have set.

 

Now that you have been introduced to Central Finance, Get Started. Login to ONLINE BANKING and click on Central Finance under Services to get started.
