Credit Union Awards $27,000 To Area Seniors During Annual Meeting

Charlottesville, VA, May 24, 2019

With the enthusiastic support of the members in attendance at their annual meeting, UVA Community Credit presented its annual tuition scholarship of $1,500 to an outstanding high school senior.

"We consider these scholarships an investment in the future of these young people and in their communities," said Jeffrey Moscicki, the chair of the credit union Board of Directors.

Eighteen scholarships were awarded to students in a combination of public high schools, private schools, alternate schools and students who are homeschooled in counties located in the credit union field of membership, which includes Charlottesville, Albemarle, Culpeper, Fauquier, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson, Orange, or Rappahannock.

UVA Community Credit Union’s mission is to improve the well-being of its members and to strengthen the communities in which they live. To accomplish this mission, the Credit Union places an emphasis on education by offering a variety of free community education seminars and through the high school scholarship program.
