Person to Person Transfer

UVA Community Credit Union’s Person to Person Transfer service gives members the ability to transfer money to another person with an email address or SMS number. No account information is needed.

Beginning Tuesday, August 6 the Person to Person Transfer service will be enhanced. Using your UVA Community Credit Union CheckMate Debit Card, transactions will now be transferred immediately and without any transaction fees*. The first time you use this service beginning on August 6, you will need to enter your UVA Community Credit Union CheckMate Debit Card number prior to sending the first transaction. Please see the steps to Get Started below.

If you don’t have a CheckMate Debit Card simply stop into any branch to apply. Upon approval, you will receive an instant issue debit card and PIN when you sign up for a card in the branch.

Once registered for the Person to Person Transfer service, your secure transaction will be debited from your account and transferred immediately. The person receiving your payment can accept the transaction using their debit card or bank account (details in chart below). Use this service as many times as you need, because each transaction is now free!

Get Started:

  1. Log into Online Banking
  2. Select Person to Person within the Online Banking transactions tab
  3. Review Terms & Conditions. Accept and continue.
  4. Verify Debit Card: enter CheckMate Debit Card number and expiration date. Click Continue.
  5. Enter send information: Recipient Name, Email or Mobile #, Amount, etc. Click Continue.
  6. To finalize transaction, enter PIN and click Submit. (Note: after two failed attempts to enter your PIN you will be locked out until the following business day.)
