The primary responsibility of the Board of Directors is to serve the Credit Union membership and be accountable for the actions of the corporation to governing regulatory agencies and its member/owners. Each director is responsible individually and collectively for protecting the best interests of the corporation and its member/owners, and for ensuring the Credit Union is soundly managed. Directors must exercise their powers and discharge their duties in good faith and with loyalty and duty of care to the Credit Union, and do so without conflict of interest.
A strong Board is made up from diverse backgrounds to guide the strategic direction of the Credit Union. The following are the minimum requirements to serve:
The Board appoints a Governance Committee to recommend qualified candidates for expiring terms and vacant positions on the Board of Directors. The Governance Committee’s review includes incumbents and members at large who have submitted an application for a volunteer position. Volunteer roles for the Board of Directors are unpaid and serve two year terms.
If you are interested in applying for a volunteer seat on the Board of Directors, you can submit a Statement of Interest online. Within one to two businesses days of submission, you will receive an application that must be completed and returned no later than the first of October of the year prior to election year.
