Teen RI$E
As a young adult, you now have the freedom to manage your own checking account and learn a little about financial independence.
You're in control with Teen RI$E.
No adults allowed.
Well, they're allowed, but not required. Most of the time when you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian to open a checking account with you. Not at UVA Community Credit Union. You can open this special account on your own if you're 13 to 17 years of age. It's a great account to start learning about money management while you're starting your first job. And the more engaged you are now, the more these good habits will pay off in the future.
- This is a free account and you can keep any balance you'd like
- Watch your account because you're not allowed to spend or withdraw more than what's available (this is called an overdraft)
- Access your money with a Visa® debit card
- Manage your money through Online Banking and our app
For a limited time, refer a friend from your friend group & you both get $50 cash!
It's your time to shine.
- Manage your money the way you want
- Teens aged 13 to 17 can now open checking and savings accounts in their names only. A parent or guardian joint account is not required to open
- Build good financial habits for the future
