UVA Community Credit Union Guest Wireless Acceptable Use Policy (Guest Wi-Fi Policy)

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) outlines the terms and conditions governing your use of our guest wireless network. By accessing and using our guest wireless network, you agree to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and this AUP.
 

Access and Use Policy for the UVACCU Guest Wireless Network

 

Network Usage

Our guest wireless network is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.

• You may not use our guest wireless network for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• You may not use our guest wireless network to transmit or distribute any content that is harmful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, or otherwise objectionable.
• You may not use our guest wireless network to harass, threaten, or intimidate any person.
•  You may not use our guest wireless network to interfere with the operation of our network or any other person’s network.
• You may not use our guest wireless network to access or attempt to access any unauthorized systems or networks.
• Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their devices and should have up-to-date security software and firewall protection.
• You may not use our guest wireless network to engage in any activity that could be considered a violation of our privacy policy or the privacy policies of others.
• Engaging in any activity that violates applicable local, state, or federal laws and regulations.

Network Security

• You are responsible for the security of your own devices and data.
• You should take reasonable steps to protect your devices and data from unauthorized access.
• You may not use our guest wireless network to access or attempt to access any unauthorized systems or networks.
• You may not use our guest wireless network to transmit or distribute any malware or other malicious code.
• You may not use our guest wireless network to engage in any activity that could be considered a violation of our security policies or the security policies of others.

 

Network Capacity

• Our guest wireless network has limited capacity.
• Users should not complete activities that consume excessive bandwidth, such as large file downloads, video streaming, and online gaming.
• We reserve the right to limit or restrict your use of our guest wireless network if your usage is excessive or interferes with the use of our network by others.

 

Network Monitoring

• We may monitor your use of our guest wireless network to ensure security and compliance with this AUP.
• We may also monitor our network to detect and prevent security threats.

 

Termination of Service

• We may suspend or terminate your access to our guest wireless network at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice.

 

Indemnification

• You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UVA Community Credit Union and directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your use of our guest wireless network or your violation of this AUP.

 

Governing Law

• This AUP shall be governed in accordance with the laws of the State of Virginia and the United States of America.

 

Entire Agreement

• This AUP constitutes the entire agreement between you and UVA Community Credit Union with respect to your use of our guest wireless network.

 

Modifications to the Policy

• UVA Community Credit Union reserves the right to modify or update this AUP as needed. Users are responsible for regularly reviewing the policy to remain compliant with its terms.
