Charlottesville, Virginia, May 1, 2026: UVA Community Credit Union proudly celebrated the recipients of the 2025–2026 Jeffrey C. Moscicki Scholarship during its Annual Meeting on Wednesday, April 29. This year’s scholars were selected for their academic excellence, leadership, and forward‑thinking vision.

“At UVA Community Credit Union, we believe that access to education creates opportunity, not just for individuals, but for families and entire communities.” said Susan Gruber, President/CEO of UVA Community Credit Union. “Supporting students who are working toward their goals is one of the many ways we live our mission and help people build a future where they can truly live well affordably.”

The scholarship program was renamed in 2024 in memory of Jeffrey C. Moscicki, who served as Board Chair from 1998 until his passing in February 2024. Jeff championed education, service, and financial empowerment, and under his leadership the scholarship program grew significantly allowing it to expand both its reach and its impact on local students.

For the 2025–2026 academic year, UVA Community Credit Union awarded 10 scholarships of $5,000 each, including one scholarship designated specifically for the child or grandchild of a UVA Community Credit Union team member. This dedicated award reflects the organization’s mission to strengthen the financial wellness of our members and local community.

This year students were asked to respond to the question: Imagine you were given a million dollars. How would you allocate it to reflect your values and future goals?

Their answers revealed remarkable clarity and ambition. Students described using the money to build a better community for others by investing in community health initiatives, funding educational access, supporting environmental innovation, and creating programs that uplift underserved communities. Their creativity, empathy, and long-term thinking are brilliant reminders of why this scholarship exists.

UVA Community Credit Union congratulates the 2025–2026 scholarship recipients and looks forward to seeing the impact they will make as they pursue their education and bring their visions to life.
