Overdraft Line of Credit1
Oversights happen. We're here to help. Use an Overdraft Line of Credit to provide financial backup to your UVA Community Credit Union checking account so your transactions aren't declined if you happen to spend more than your available balance. Funds from the line of credit automatically transfer to your checking account before you incur any fees. You can also transfer money on your own whenever you need a little extra.

1Overdraft Protection Line of Credit protects your checking account from overdrafts and denied transactions. This service is used to cover insufficient funds before an Overdraft Savings Transfer is used. Please note that an Overdraft Line of Credit is subject to credit approval. See our rate schedule for current rates. To apply, complete a loan application at uvacreditunion.org, visit a branch, or call 888-887-9136.
Overdraft Protection Transfer From Savings Account services apply to all transactions and may help prevent overdrafts by automatically transferring funds to your checking account from your savings account you may have at UVA Community Credit Union for a cost. In the event an automatic transfer from your savings account occurs, but the amount transferred is insufficient to completely cover an overdraft, an overdraft fee will be charged instead of the transfer fee. Overdraft Privilege Coverage (Standard and Extended) allows you to overdraw your account up to your approved limit for a fee in order to pay a transaction. Even if you have overdraft protection, Overdraft Privilege is still available as secondary coverage if other protection sources are exhausted.
2If you opt in to Extended Coverage on your consumer account, ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card transactions will be included with the transactions listed under Standard Coverage. You are required to opt-in to this service.
